Every Xbox One is rigged to be a developer kit, as Microsoft told us earlier this year. That feature isn’t ready quite yet, but as discovered by one crafty Redditor, you can actually access the Xbox One’s developer kit functionality right

Warning: you probably don’t want to screw around with this stuff too much, because hitting the wrong switch and accidentally bricking your brand new $500 machine is not a very good investment. That said, you can access the Developer settings by going into your Xbox One’s system menu and pressing the left bumper, right bumper, left trigger, and right trigger in order. UPDATE (4:14pm): Microsoft agrees with us: don’t do
this. Here’s their statement to Kotaku: “Changing the settings in this menu is only intended for developers for Xbox One, and this alone does not turn the console into a development kit. We strongly advise consumers against changing these settings
as it could result in their Xbox One
l86 becoming unusable. Customers who have put their consoles into this developer setting can revert by restoring factory defaults under Settings / System, select Restore Factory Defaults.”
