Big-League eSports Team Owner Among Those Charged in Huge Hacking Case

The owner of what was one of the largest teams in eSports is among several rummy royal persons charged in what the United States government now calls “the largest hacking and data breach scheme ever prosecuted in the United States.” Dmitry Smilianets, who went by the handle ddd1ms, is among five charged with stealing millions of debit rummy royal and credit card numbers,says the AP. Smilianets owned the team Moscow 5, which competed in League of Legends, Dota Yono all app 2, Yono all app and Counter-Strike, reports GameSpot. The team was shut down in January and quickly reconstituted as “Gambit Gaming” in order to participate in League of Yono all app Legends’ championship events. Smilianets is Yono all app in American custody and due to appear in court in the coming week. His network is alleged to have stolen at least 160 million debit and credit card numbers, resulting in losses in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
